"Paringa" together with "Rupara" and "Morialta" established the "Gulf Trip", which for fifty years was one of South Australia's most popular holiday runs. Chief ports on this tour were Port Lincoln, Port Pirie and Port augusta; later Port Hughes and Whyalla were sometimes included.
