two masted schooner with round stern, 1 deck and carvel built. Built in 1873 in Port Adelaide as a steamer, she was rerigged in 1875 and her engine removed. An auxilliary engine was refitted in 1915 (36 bhp). Vessel was owned by H D Dale, 1873 W Hamilton, 1882 H Hodgeman & Walker, later A Hodgeman, 1904 W Playfair & A G Littely, 1915 SS Carver, 1919 T S Backhouse, 1922 Junction North Broken Hill Mine Co, EJ Wright & others, 1930 JD Edwards & others, 1932 DJ Angelinawich. "Broughton" was totally wrecked off Port MacDonnell, July 15, 1947.
