H.M.A.S. "Warrego",one of four grimsby class sloops, built at Cockatoo Island, Sydney in 1940. She served in New Guinea in 1942, the Phillipppines in 1944, and was at the Lingayen Gulf and Balikpapan Landings. Post war warrego became a training and survey ship, after five survey seasons in South Australian Waters she was reduced to reservein 1963 and sold in April 1965. In 1966 she was broken up in Rozelle Bay, Sydney. Displacement(tons): 1,060 standard, 1,500 - 1,515 full load. Dimensions: length 2661/4', beam 36', draught 7.5' Armament: 3 x 4'A.A., 4 x 3 pdr., 1 x M.G., 2 x D.C.T.
