Freighter, S.S. "Argus", built in 1889 at Newcastle, UK, and employed in Australia to India trade. Owned from 1889 unitl 1905 by Archibald Currie, then sold into Japan. Vessel has a gross tonnage of 2792. This image shows vessel ashore at Goat Island, Sydney Harbour, after a collision with S.S. Mildura on Friday 31st of July 1903 at 9pm. Divers are at work patching up the hole.
