My father was able seaman on Bellpool 1923 ?
The ship encountered a hurricane, passing Cape Horn, and was near wreckage. 15 m high Waves. The rig was badly wounded, and ship near sinking.
The crew mounted the masts and shouting " Good bye to ourselves" 200 tons water on deck. Luckily the ship did not sink, but was driven to southern Ice Ocean, and was repaired during one month, and reached Great Britain after sailing 4 month from Australia.
He has written all down in a letter to his parents.
