On passage out of Persian Gulf with Kuwaiti oil when circled by an Iranian spotter plane. The Master realized that an air attack was imminent and headed for Qatari territorial waters and safety, but struck by missial when only 3' short of haven. The crew put out the fire and the ship was towed to port.
