This date cannot be correct. My family and I were on that trip from Southhampton to Australia. We landed in Brisbane on October 17 1963. Around the 10th we would have been coming through the Great Australian Bight. Landing first in Melbourne, then Sydney and onto Brisbane. We didn't go anywhere near Tassie.

We left Southampton on December 23 1965 docking in Sydney 0n January 24th 1966 onboard the Castel Felice. We had a cabin overlooking the foredeck. We were also one of the last ships through the Suez canal. Our first stop on Australian soil was Fremantle then in Melbourne on January 23 ( my 18th birthday) Anyone onboard that ship feel free to contact me at the email address. I now live on the mid north coast of NSW

I left Southampton on the Castel Felice ? early September 1963 as a £10 migrant and disembarked at Fremantle after a 3 week voyage through Suez, just a few weeks late for the start of term at the school where I was to work. Stopped at Suez, but not allowed ashore, but my cabin mates with Irish passports were allowed ashore stopped at Aden and went ashore for a few hours.
