Description
initial war service, 1939-41, was as an AMC for which her logs will be in PRO London;
Began trooping with Captain Bone & company crew on 28/7/1942, in convoy from clyde to Suez, 5/9/1942, via Freetown & Durban; back to clyde to join "Torch" convoys for North Africa landings. In 1943 converted to LSI, but under Red Ensign, with RN landing staff, for "Husky"/sicily invasion, then to Bombay to train Indian troops and return to Med. back to India and final assault on Morib, Malacca Strait made after japanese surrender;
