Anna McDonald 22 years, passenger on the Morning Star, Nov. 19th 1862 - 14th Feb 1863, writes of her journey in her book - Memories of my life: from my early days in Scotland till the present day in Adelaide. Published 1906. Free on line: National Library of Australia https://nla.gov.au:443/tarkine/nla.obj-358993523 ( pdf) Relevant sections for the journey - I Decide to Come to Adelaide pages 44 - 46; On an Emigrant Ship, pages 46 - 52. I arrive in Adelaide , pages 52 - 59. PS. I'm enjoying the whole book.

My ancestor John McMenamin is recorded by the NSW Asylum records to have boarded the Morning Star as a passenger to Australia. However, he has not been found on any passenger lists. A mystery!
