Brisbane for London

Wool cargo found on fire on NW of Chathams. Ship made back to NZ, Captain and crew took to lifeboats on 23/2/1865, leaving 18 volunteers aboard. All former were lost and latter rescued by Dauntless on 11/5/1865. Ship sank on 12/5/1865. Report published in "New Zealander", Auckland, 18/5/1865;
