The two passengers recorded in the newspapers as Messrs Patchell and Fatchell were actually cousins, William Neal Tatchell (1830-1918) from Hampshire and William Frederick Tatchell (1827-1897) from London. The first William stayed in South Australia for the rest of his life (became a prosperous farmer) and the second William travelled to Victoria where he remained for the rest of his life (an unsuccessful digger, a very successful hotelkeeper and a Member of Parliament in the 1890s).
