William James was only 17 on arrival. However he was the first Mormon the enter Australia. He had been tasked by the church to build the Mormon Church in Australia. However he became discouraged after seeing the wild life and debauchery in Mount Barker. He did convert another gentleman who did go on to build the Mormon Church in Australia. He finally left the church and became a Congregational minister. He is my two-greats grandfather.
