According to "Gallasch of Grunthal" by E.A.Wittwer, pg 11, "The tonnage of the 'Catharina' is given in most sources as 350 tons. It has been stated that she was built in Kiel in 1810 and renovated in Hamburg in 1835 by the fiem of Johann Marbs. Peter Schacht was her master from 1835 to 1841. After a delay of about eight weeks, our fore-fathers left Europe on a non-stop journey for Adelaide. The ship was reported at Adelaide on January 22 1839 with the landing of passengers taking place on January 25." An approximate passenger list is also given, compiled from various sources, giving varying totals. The Gallasch Family Tree Update, compiled October 2021, page 172, about the Catharina, "She departed Hamburg on Friday, 21 Sep 1838 under the command of Peter Schacht and arrived at Port Adelaide, SA on Tuesday, 22 January 1839." As opposed to the dates given on this site?!
