Mr. John EDGER

The passenger list of the barque Bolton which arrived in Adelaide, South Australia from London on 15 April 1848 included a "John Edger (actually "Edgar"), Scotch (scottish) Labourer". This is my two times great grandfather. He married a Mary Ann McCardle from Ireland who arrived in 1849. Mary Ann came by herself and records how there was a Potato famine in Ireland at the time (1845-1851), so it is likely this is the reason she left Ireland. This turn of events is one of the main reasons I am here. Thankyou John and Mary Ann.
