I actually think this is Alexander Pool who travelled under a false name with his new wife Mary Ann. He was born on 17th Feb 1827 to Mary Blewett who may have been married to ? Pool but by all accounts it look s like he was an illigitimate son. Mary Blewett had been imprisoned on several occasions for theft. Hence why I think they must have travelled under false names.
Alexander married Mary Ann Waters on 8th May 1847 in Madron, Cornwall, England.

I think the Alex. Litster on the passenger list really was a Litster. My great great grandparents, Thomas and Ann Litster, travelled on the Lady McNaughten with their four children. The passenger list shows two children, but I think the older ones, Alexander and Mary Ann, being teenagers, would have been listed as adults.
