Elizabeth decided to join her brothers in coming to South Australia in 1848, and arrived on board the ship "Bussorah Merchant" in that same year. Her husband, William Green was 15 years her senior, this being his third marriage. His first wife had died on their voyage out from England, and their daughter, Fanny, later married Elizabeth's nephew, Charles Wheeler Plush, the son of William Plush. William and Elizabeth lived in Angaston at a house straight up the main road. This house was left to Henry Green (a child of William's first marriage), being passed on to his sons and daughters and then to Miss Mabel Green. William Green was a wine maker at Gawler Park, a couple of miles out of Angaston. He was not a drinker, only having a small glass of wine each night at bed time. William was a Congregationalist, but he fell out with this group and later became a Baptist. "Bussorah Merchant" was a 530ton / 650 ton wooden, three-masted ship built (1818) in Howrah, India. Her dimensions were 117'3" x 31'11" x 5'9" tween decks. Owner: Duncan Dunbar, registered in London. The ship was engaged as a convict transport 1828-1831. Arrived at Port Adelaide 10 November 1848 from London and Plymouth. Captain Edwards. (Register 11 November 1848). (With regards to the ship's tonnage the first is the old measurement, the second the new measurement).
