My Great Great Grandfather Niels Christian Pedersen worked on this ship on it's travels to South Australia.
He must have fall in love with Clara Bray because he jumped ship to be with her.
Clara Bray and Mary A Bray arrived in Port Adelaide on the same ship Forfarshine.
Niels and Clara Married on 12/10/1877.
Niels was killed in a boating accident on the Port River Regatta on 1/1/1884.
Copied from the Coroners report into the death of Niels Christian Pederson.
That the man Niels Christian Pedersen was drowned in the Port River by the capsizing of a yacht :Rose: in a race at the regatta on the 1/1/1884. Mr E.H. Herrington held this inquest on the 2/1/1884 as the City Coroner was other wise engaged at an inquest verdict. The jury are of the opinion of the deceased Niel Christian Pederden was was caused by suffocation from drowing and that by the accidental upsetting of the yacht "Rose" and not from any other circumstances.
I have very limited information other than above.
