Mr. Charles WILLIAMS

Charles Williams was my Great Grandfather; born Joaquim Cabral on the Assores. He was Portuguese. He travelled from Bermuda with his wife Mary Williams born Paris and their children Evelina Mary Frances Williams and Daniel Williams (who died on voyage from London to South Australia ) but a daughter Anna Williams was born before arrival at Port Adelaide. Also travelling with them was Mary’s half sister Frances Josephine Louis who was 12 years old. On arrival Charles Williams who had a letter of introduction from the Governor of Bermuda worked for Thomas Hardy for 3 years. He later settled at Wirrabara Forest with his family and grew fruit and vegetables.
