Aged 6 at time of journey. Have posted pics of our family on Journey media library. Remember one of last ships through Suez Canal before 6 day war, waiting with uncertainty in Eastern Med to see if we were going to be let through. Woke up next morning going through canal, to see camel train outside porthole window! Stopped at Port Said and Aden (pics uploaded in media library). Have great memories of gloriously warm days in Indian Ocean playing deck games. Best holiday ever. Also recall listening to tunes from dances that were her on rear deck under canvas in evenings. Only bad weather to my recollection was Bay of Biscay just after leaving Southampton, and then the journey between Fremantle and Adelaide in the Great Australian Bight. It was so rough that night, our porthole started taking in water and there was water sloshing around cabin floor. I now live in UK but rest of family still live in Melbourne and Brisbane.
