I arrived, on my own, as a Ten Pound "pom" sponsored by Harold Schultz who ran three shoe shops in Adelaide. Mr. Schultz organised for me to work for B. H. MacLaughlin who owned a number of large pastoral properties in the north of the state. I was a Jackeroo on Commonwealth Hill Station, 2.25 million acres 75 miles north west of Tarcoola, running up to 60,000 Collinsville Merino Sheep. I spent four years there then moved to Balcanoona Station (now Gammon Range National Park) in the Northern Flinders Ranges where I became the overseer. After three and a half years I moved to Hampshire a 12,000 acre property near Merriwa in New South Wales. After one and a half years I left there when I married Helen Green and moved to Sydney. I worked for A.M.L. and F. Company and became a Rural Valuer. The company was taken over by Elders. I became the Rural Sales Manage and retired in 2000. Hobbies are art and natural history. We have a daughter, Kim and son, Michael who are both married - Kim to Andrew Munkman and they have three daughters, Rebecca, Samantha and Emma. Michael is married to Keryn Gregory and they have two sons, Lachlan and Asher and a daughter, Fleur. I am now a Naturalised Australian Citizen.
