On April 1, 1857, Alice Walton delivered to Station Pier, Melbourne, 63 passengers. Philip Blashki, wife Hannah and her son Hyman, 1 were on board. They had '3 shillings and a suitcase', as their luggage left for America on another ship. Philip (see Wikipedia) built a jewelry business through trading in the goldfields. He established P. Blashki & Sons in 1858, one of Australia's longest continuing businesses. Chairman of Melbourne's new City Court when he died, Philip and Hannah had 14 children in Melbourne and Geelong, and 55 grandchildren.
