I believe my 2 times great grand father was a passenger on the barque
City Of Madrid.He travelled under the name C.J.Smith, however his birth name
was Karles Johan Smidt born in Norway.The ship sailed from London to Pt.Adelaide .SouthAustralia on the 20/12/1878 arrived PT Adelaide II/3/ 1879.I would like to have any details about him regarding his passage.Many Thanks D.V.powell
