William Cumming, engineer employed by Adelaide Steamships for 10 years was in charge of the refit and lengthening of the Claud Hamilton. It happened in Port Adelaide, but I don't know where. He was my G-Gfather and I am compiling his history in ships. I don't know much of this SA period apart from references people had written for him which I have. He went on to supervise the building of many steamships and tugs for Huddart Parker from 1893-1910 the last 2 being the famous Zealandia and the PS Weeroona which both continued working up until the 1940s in WW2 service. Anyone know any details of Claud Hamilton? He was involved in work & refit of other AdSS vessels. Cheers Bruce bruce.cumming1@bigpond.com
