Last sailing ship built to carry passengers in the Australian trade and was constructed especially to outdo the "Torrens". She did not stay long on the South Australian run but became very popular in the Melbourne Trade.

My grandfather -Fred Munday - arrived at Port Adelaide on "Harbinger" arriving either Janary 1877 or 1879 as ship's baker. Can you confirm? I think he jumped ship.

My great grandfather Thomas William Bradshaw supposedly was a crew member of the harbinger in 1882- and deserted. Can find no record of him in various ships lists or in newspaper of that time
