My great grandmother, Dorette Wilhelmina Mayer immigrated to Australia (aged 7) in 1847 on the Hermann Von Beckerath with her parents and 5 siblings, arriving at Port Adelaide on 15 December 1847. The family then made their way to the gold fields in Central Victoria where Dorette met and married my great grandfather, Frederick Francis Hulls in 1857 in Bendigo and had 12 children.
