The ship was Berthed in Port Kembla outer harbour loading pig iron for Fremantle and Kwinana. It was my first trip at sea and I was very sea sick on my first voyage across the Great Australian Bight. I thought As soon as I get to Fremantle I would go home. Thankfully I didn’t do that and I spent many memorable years as an Engineer with BHP before coming ashore where I spent the rest of my working career in the shipping business
