I joined this ship as 7th engineer early 1969. I was a BHP trainee. The first person I met when I climbed up the gangway late in the evening wasThe Chief Engineer Ron Reinhard. I can always remember him saying to me “Who the F !! Are you . The ship was Berthed in Port Kembla outer harbour loading pig iron for Fremantle and Kwinana. It was my first trip at sea and I was very sea sick on my first voyage across the Great Australian Bight. I thought As soon as I get to Fremantle I would go home. Thankfully I didn’t do that and I spent many memorable years as an Engineer with BHP before coming ashore where I spent the rest of my working career in the shipping business Chris Sorensen
