I have been carrying out research on the Isle of Erin for many years. I wrote a booklet entitled Voyage 26 which records the vessel's 1895-97 voyage from Cardiff to Hamburg (including stops at Algoa Bay, Mauritius, Auckland, Thames (NZ), Melbourne, Fremantle, Bunbury, Newcastle (Aust.), Cape Town, Savanah (USA)).
The barque was built by D&W Henderson in Glasgow in 1875 and went down (with all hands including master, his wife and infant son) in a storm off North Ronaldsay (Orkney Islands in 1908. Paul Comrie
