Capt. Reynolds and 17 of the crew of the Lord Lyndhurst which foundered off Cape Horn in October 1894 arrived in San Diego on the British ship "Scottish Hills" as reported in the New York Times on December 9th 1894. She had been going from Rio de Janeiro to Valparaiso when she foundered.
