Hello there just looked up the Manoora i remember sailing from Sydney to Perth on it in Oct 1952 as a 7 year old i can remember the trip if it was yesterday, had some memobilla like Egg cups, spoons, they have gone wondering where i can get some ,Cheers TW

I spent some weeks as a young boy in May 1952 travelling with my parents from Melbourne to Cairns and return, visiting Sydney, Brisbane and Townsville en route. I still have a small ship's (dinner) bell, topped by an anchor which was given to me as a birthday present - I had my fifth birthday (and party) as the ship travelled through the Whitsundays. I also have a ship's spoon which I won in a fancy dress competition onboard. I have very fond memories of the trip and the visits to ports on the way all these years later..

I left Bombayas an 11 year old on HMAS Manoora in 1947 under troopship conditions, bound for Freemantle arriving a few days after Independence Day which was 15th August 1947. Can anyone help me with the actual date of departure from Bombay.?
