Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co., reg. Belfast. 1897 Jan.: Left Sydney for London with £520,000 in specie on board. While at Port Melbourne, a further shipment of gold was placed on board. During one of these loadings it was discovered that a bullion box was missing. Several years later, two boys found the soverigns under Williamstown jetty.1906: London - Bombay service. 1912 Mar.16: Sank after a collision with the German barque Pisagua, in the English Channel, near Beachy Head.
