Diary starts on 31st Nov

Dec 1st left Tilbury
had a rough passage
Felt very sick.
2nd stopped at Southampton
for stores. 3rd Smooth
passage. 4th passed
Cape Finnistirre (sic) Lighth
ouse and entered the
Bay same day 5 Ship
rolling very bad got
paid out at 11.30.
I passed a food
6th Left the Bay of Biscayne
1.20 am and entered the
Strait’s of Gibralter
7th came by Portugal good
Weather. 8th Lovely weather
Just of the coast of sai
n had a big inspection
by the ships captain
stopped at Gibralter
for about two hours
then moved off. 9th
Weather fairly rough saw
a mine explode of the
coast of Morroco. 10th
Fairly calm passed the
Coast of ******&*
Very warm and Calm
Off the N W Coast of
Africa. 12th Good Weather
Passed Siscily (sic) and
Malta got paid 22/
13 Sat weather all right
no land in sight
14 Sun passed Portugese(sic) Archipe
ligo in the afternoon passed
The Greek Coast
15 Entered the Dardanelles
Passed Suvla Bay Cape
Helles Anzac Cove
16 Passed through the sea of Marmora and
Picked up two stranded
Sailors in a barge We
arrived at Constantinop
le about 12am
