My mother sailed aboard Romolo, leaving Port Victoria in January 1939. She was a reporter for the Sun (Sir Keith Murdoch) and sent pieces back from her trip during the lead up to the war, and then from London until VE day. I am reading the journal she wrote of her voyage - historic times.
