doing family history. My G/GRANDFATHER William JAMES KNOX BORN 1829 Canada died Australia NSW 1881 crewed on "The Star of the East" and jumped ship in either Melbourne or Sydney in 1853 with a price on his head and headed for the goldfields. I am trying to find which port he jumped ship.
