Journey Notes
The Sophie And Friedericke.- The above vessel is a very smart two-topsail schooner, of and from Hamburg which port she left in October with a full complement of passengers and a general cargo, particulars of which were furnished by Captain Oesau. The number of emigrants embarked at Hamburg was 77, but the death of two children on the voyage reduced that to 75, who have arrived in good health after rather a monotonous passage. The schooner touched at Cape Town, on the 24th December, for the purpose of filling up water; but the weather for several days being boisterous, she was unable to accomplish her purpose before the 27th when she sailed for Adelaide.
