Journey Notes

Driven ashore (mouth of Port River) outside the bar at 9 pm the 13th and totally wrecked. The passengers left by longboat and lifeboat. The captain followed later by jolly boat and helped those in the lifeboat to land on Torrens Is, then obtained provisions for them from the Digby. The longboat was later found to have reached Port Gawler, all passengers and crew except one saved, and the steamtug conveyed those on the island to port. The wreck was sold for £170 and remaining cargo for £185 (14 Nov). [Sexton]
