Journey Notes
The John Mitchell, with one hundred and thirteen passengers and general cargo, from London and Plymouth, arrived late on Saturday evening; but having cast anchor in an unsafe position, had to slip cable yesterday, and sail round to the Port. She left Plymouth on 5th of January, the same day as the David Malcolm, and, of course, brings no later intelligence. Four dearths occurred during the voyage, including one who committed suicide by cutting his throat with a razor, from temporary insanity. She brings a small mail. The only vessel spoke during the voyage was the Tiger, from Mauritius, bound for Bordeaux. Adelaide Times and General Advertiser 23/4/1849.
