Journey Notes
The SADIE T CALLER is a three masted fore-and-aft schooner of nearly 300 tons. Her taunt spars measure 140 feet to the truck, and she looks like a craft to sail first-rate on a beam wind. The captain gives her credit for going 307 to 325 knots per day during the passage down. She reports heavy weather after leaving the Cape, especially in the vicinity of St Paul’s, where several sails were blown away in a hurricane. She has no cargo, but called seeking employment, and such a vessel is not likely to seek in vain. Register 31/3/76.
