Via Hobart (13 Apr - 17 May) on a whaling voyage for the South Seas. She took on four runaway convicts at Waterhouse Island before cruising off Kangaroo Island. Upon anchoring at Point Marsden the captain reported that the men had run off in a boat a fortnight earlier. In early July a boat belonging to McCallum, who was building a schooner at Western River, was stolen by these runaway convicts. [Sexton]
