Departed in company with Le Maturaliste, and after calling at Teneriffe (2 - 14 Nov) Île de France (16 Mar - 25 Apr 1801), Mapped the west coast of New Holland. Called at Kupang (22 Aug - 13 Nov) and proceeded to Van Diemen's Land - where the two ships became separated - and Bass Strait. Baudin sailed westward, and Le Géographe was south of Mt.Gambier on 2 April 1802, off Rivoli Bay on the 6th, Cape Bernouilli on the 7th, and met the Investigator in Encounter Bay on 8th.[Sexton]
