Catherine and Lewis John Lambley and their son James Lewis came to Australia (Western Australia) per Ganges on 20 January 1844. Catherine and Lewis John were both school teachers. Lewis John opened a private school in Perth WA. Catherine, his widow was appointed mistress at Perth Girls' School. Catherine Fordred (nee Smith) (1819 - 1884) was married 4 time during her life: In 1833 she married Lewis John Lambley (1810 - 1847) In 1849 she married James Bevis Dolbear (1806 – 1856) In 1857 she married Frederick (Frederic) Fordred (1828 – 1863) In 1865 she married William Owen Lewis (1835 – 1901) Catherine died in Adelaide SA in 1884. Frederick Fordred (1828 – 1863) Frederick arrived in the colony on 24 February 1852 per Will Watch. He was a gardener in Perth. He qualified as Juror 1860 and was a member the Oddfellows 1861. He was also the licensee of the united Services Tavern 1861 - 1863. He employed 5 ticket of leave men 1858-1862. He died in 1863 from the effects of ‘strong drink’. Catherine his wife ran a boarding house in St Georges Terrace, Perth. After his death in she left for South Australia on 5 June 1864 per Alexandra. She arrived back in the colony from Melbourne per Northam on 31 December 1864. On 11 January 1865 she left for Port Adelaide, SA per Wonga Wonga arriving on 15 January 1865.
