Struck a reef near Beachport, SA whilst on a voyage from Port Pirie via Edithburgh to Melbourne laden with a cargo of salt. The vessel was a total loss. Because her distress signals were unanswered a boat was launched to get assistance from the mainland. In the meantime the SS Somerset and SS Kyarra helped to rescue some of the crew. The lifeboat City of Adelaide also came to the rescue of the remainder.
