The Barque UNA, under the command of Captain Maxwell, left the Downs on the 2nd December, off the Start on December 8 with light winds from E.S.E., which continued as fer as Madeira, which was passed on December 22. Crossed the Equator in 25°30' west on January 7, and January 16 sighted the island of Tristan d'Acunha; on February 4 crossed the meridian of Greenwich in 41°. Sighted Cape Borda on March 20, having experienced light variable winds up Spencer's Gulf. Only sighted one vessel during the whole of the voyage, which was a french barque bound for New Caladonia.
