Journey Notes

The Santiago a symmetrical handy looking iron barque, which bore evidence of having seen better days, now destined to sail the seas no more, but to do the prosaic drudgery of lightering, arrived from Newcastle on Wednesday morning, with an ample cargo of coal. She will lie for a few days at Largs where she will probably be dismantled. She had a rough passage, as her broken bulwarks testified mutely but eloquently enough. The Santiago has been purchased by the Adelaide Steam Tug Company for a lighter. Register 22/8/1901.
