"Ships that passed" by Scott Baty describes "Chitral" as a  twin screw passenger vessel built by Alexander Stephens & Sons, Linthouse, Scotland.  She was launched on 27 January 1927 and completed in June 1925.  Her inaugural voyage was from London to Sydn
