John Hurley 1796-27 Nov 1882 arrived on July 15, 1824 as a convict on the "Prince Regent".
he married mary Byrne in Campbelltown in about 18237. they had seven children all born in Campbelltown.
John's Occupations were:- Ploughman - Inkeeper - Politician - Pastoralist and Grazier.
John owned Alpha in Queen Street, Campbelltown, Bank of NSW, land opposite Royal Hotel, and the Hurley Farm between Appin and Old Menangle Roads. He was the licensee of Kings Arms Inn, Campbelltown from 1837. Hurley Street and Hurley Park Campbelltown were named in honour of this family. A window in St. John's Campbelltown is dedicated to his daughter Mary Ann Hurley 1838-1892.
