I think the Anglo Norman foundered on the Kaipara Harbour bar in 1914. My great-grandfather Ray Brown was a ship builder on the Northern Wairoa River and I believe he was involved in the salvage operation. I have an old telescope and a small bentwood chair that I believe came off the Anglo Norman.
