Set off from King George V Dock London on about 26th February 1956. Called at Valetta, (Malta), Port Said, (Egypt), Aden, (was that Yemen in those days?), Columbo, (Ceylon), Freemantle, and on to Melbourne (about 4th April). We'd heard is was her 3rd last run before she was to be scrapped. We were travelling at about the same time as Largs Bay and came across her with engine failure between Columbo and Freemantle and towed her to Freemantle. Fond memories. reply Your Stories Your name * E-mail * Post your story * Submit Leave this field blank Share this Page Share this ship with your friends and followers online.
