My father, Maurice Stephen Kilvert was a 17 yr old Dreadnought boy who came to Australia on the Balranald in 1928 to study at the Scheyville Boys Training farm near Windsor, N.S.W. I have photos of both the ship and a group of lads just off the Balranald as they arrived in Sydney.

My Great Uncle, John McLeod from Skye, was quartermaster on this steamer. He drowned at Manly, Australia as the result of a swimming accident in December 1922.
