My GGGF, his wife and 6 of their 8 children arrived in Adelaide on this ship. They were Henry Prendergast 1813-1867 and Mary Costello 1815-1902 both from Tuam, Galway. My GGM Margaret Prendergast was ten years old at the time.

l believe my husbands first ancestor to come to australia travelled from london on the ship "Pestonjee Bomanjee"16/2/1851 in Adelaide. l would love to find a picture of this ship for him. Any help much appreciated thanks J Davison

Adelaide Maritime artist John Ford has painted an impression of the Pestonjee Bomanjee. It can be found here. https://www.rumbelow.net/encounterbay/Pestonjee

My GGGF's eldest sister Mary Ann Land arrived by herself on the 1838 voyage. She is listed as Ann on the passenger listing and was married a Martin Higgins 3 months after arriving whose arrival to the SA colony is not yet established. She was the first of the Land family to emigrate with my GGGF arriving in Queensland in 1858. They lived in the same area at Drayton, near Toowoomba.

The first of the Rumbelow family, Malen, Alice and their nine children (six girls and three boys) from West Row, Suffolk arrived at Port Adelaide on October 9th 1854. They had set sail from Southampton UK 112 days earlier aboard the barque Pestonjee Bomanjee. John Ford painting of the “Pestonjee Bomanjee” the barque which transported the first Rumbelows from England to Port Adelaide in 1854. https://www.rumbelow.net/encounterbay/Pestonjee
