I have newspaper clipping of memorial service on Sept 22 for Captain George Marsters who went down with his ship Port Jackson,on April 28, I believe in WW1. I can find details of this ship on various sites but nothing which verifies he was commander of this ship, as stated in clipping. Can anyone help? Were there two boats bamed Port Jackson?
ort Adelaide Catholic Church. The Church of the Immaculate Conception—popularly known as St. Peary's—is situated in Dale Street, Port Adelaide. The official blessing and opening of the Church took place on August 15th, 1858, although the building had been used as a place of worship for some little time beforehand. Father Francis Coyle had done some missionary work in the Port Adelaide district from 1848, but it wasn't until 1855 that Bishop Murphy was able to secure the present site. From 1858 the Church was looked after from the Bishop's House in West Terrace. https://get-shareit.com
